Processing the bean

Processing by either the wet or dry methods successively removes the bean's skin, pulp, mucilage and parchment.

Final processing, or hulling, removes the parchment and polishes the bean.
The beans are sorted and graded by colour, size and weight, to ensure uniformity, before being bagged in 60 kg sacks and exported.
